They also helped create the law that all Christian's were able to worship in their own way. When the British arrived, the Native Americans refused slavery. The Southern Colonies were settled because Britain hoped it would provide new goods for trading in the British markets. Virginia is very swampy and humid. Maryland has no natural lakes. North Carolina is perfect for growing things. Georgia is very dry. Georgia also has pine trees and vine like plants.
